Legalise a document

The British Embassy in Ankara and British Consulates in Istanbul and Izmir can , certify copies of documents, draft affidavits and legalise Turkish documents that have officially signed and sealed by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  • Attesting or legalising a signature or seal fee 3(1)
  • Administering an oath or receiving a declaration or affirmation fee 3(2)
  • Making or verifying a copy of a document: 
  • In typescript or made by photographic process outside the consular premises, for each page fee 6(a)
  • By photographic process, if the copy is made in the consular premises fee 6(b)
  •  Uniting documents and sealing the fastening, or affixing a photograph to a document not prepared by the consular officer and if necessary certifying that document fee 7
  •  Making or verifying (including certifying where necessary) a translation in writing of a document or part of a document, for each 100 words or characters in a foreign language fee 10(b)
  • Making a search for records (For British Nationals Only)
  • In consular registration records for births, deaths or marriage, where the number or date of entry is not provided fee 30 (a)
  • For any other records or archives of Her Majesty’s Government in the UK fee 30(c)
  • N.B. All fees are paid in local currency at the current Consular Rate of Exchange see Consular Fees
