Consulate hosts climate change event (04/11/2009)
A group of eminent individuals, comprising the likes of former US President Jimmy Carter, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former Irish President Mary Robinson, visited the British Consulate in Istanbul on 29 October. The group, founded by Nelson Mandela and known as "The Elders", came together with their grandchildren to highlight the dangers of climate change in the run-up to the Copenhagen Summit in a striking photo-shoot in the Consulate's gardens.
Visit www.theelders.org to read the Elders' statement on climate change and to view more pictures of the event."
