Disabled access
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the British Embassy Ankara is keen to ensure that their buildings and services are fully accessible to disabled members of the public. Wherever possible, we have made our buildings and services accessible.
Unfortunately, due to security and other restrictions easy access for disabled people is not always available. To assist disabled visitors, we have set out below details of disabled access/amenities at this Embassy. We hope you find this information helpful.
General physical access
The Main Embassy Entrance to the building is located on a quite road, which is usually clear and unobstructed. Although there are no ramps, the ground surface is safe and secure.
The Main Entrance to the Embassy is via a security door that is wide enough for wheelchairs. Doors are fairly accessible. Security Guards and Consulate staff would be able to assist. Lighting is good.
A phone is available in the Consular Waiting Room.
There are no public toilets within the Embassy.
For security reasons there is no parking available for visitors in the Consulate bay directly in front of the building. There is however limited parking available on the street but visitors should not rely on getting a space.
Access for visually impaired visitors
Guide dogs are welcome.
Access for deaf and hard of hearing visitors
Hearing dogs are welcome.
