UK Parliament

Foreign policy lies at the forefront of our bilateral co-operation, from the European Union, where Britain has been a staunch supporter of Turkey's EU aspirations; to the Balkans where British and Turkish troops have served alongside each other as part of successive international peace-keeping forces; to our common membership of NATO and the challenge of developing a European Defence and Security Policy that is firmly anchored to NATO.

Britain and Turkey also have common interests and objectives in international organisations, in particular the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the Council of Europe and the International Maritime Organisation. Turkey and Britain share approached to a number of regional issues, including the Middle East, the Caucasus, Russia the Eastern Mediterranean, the Caspian and Central Asia.
