He restated the UK's strong support for Turkey's accession to the EU. He encouraged reforms to continue Turkey's efforts towards full accession. He discussed a range of issues including Cyprus, the democratic opening and regional issues. He also met Turkish MPs at the Parliament to discuss climate change in the run up to the Copenhagen Summit in December.
